Only those pilots who meet their minimum requirements and are fully prepared to tackle the grueling interview process will find themselves with a letter of offer.

Sasha Robinson, Flightdeck Consulting’s principal interview consultant warns “the style of questioning is specifically designed to catch the candidate off guard and really put them on the spot”

Questions of late have included “If you could be any car which would you choose and why?” replace car with bird, fish or planet and you can easily see how a candidate could find themselves sitting red faced and scrambling for some kind of semi-coherent response.

Preparation is the key advises Sasha. “We first send our clients a interview work book to complete as well as online virtual interviews to practise their skills. From there we run two, one and a half hour sessions over skype that follow the Emirates interview format. Following a thorough written debrief our clients are fully prepared for their interview and many have later commented that the Emirates interview was a breeze compared to what I put them through!”

To book a session with Sasha for your airline interview visit www.flightdeckconsulting.com or contact her directly at sasha@flightdeckconsulting.com

Cathay Pacific Cadet Program

THIS YEAR FLIGHTDECK CONSULTINGS CLIENTS HAVE ACHIEVED A 100% SUCCESS RATE! Industry experts estimate that VB will require up to 150 pilots this year alone to supplement their expansion plans and expected retirements.

Last year turned out to be a slow year for the recruitment of pilots within both Virgin Blue and Jetstar whilst non-existant in Qantas Main Line.

Whilst the numbers may be large competition for the available positions will be tough.

For those pilots seeking employment with Virgin, Flightdeck Consulting recommends starting your preparation early. Sasha, Flightdeck's principal consultant advises " Virgin Blue is known for it's fast track, no bullshit recruitment process, the downside to this fast pace process is that notice for an interview can be as little as two weeks leaving little or no time to prepare for the gruelling behavioural based interview process"

For those wishing to get a head start on the competition Sasha recommends either the "The Complete Airline Pilot Interview Course" DVD or "The Airline Pilot Interview Online Course" (identical content in different formats)

Both course have proved to be incredibly successful and come with unlimited email support from Sasha.
